Background

The Reverend Jeremiah B Pryce Scholarship was established in 2006, to honor the vision and legacy of the Founding Pastor of Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church, the Rev. Dr. Jeremiah B. Pryce. The effort was originally championed by his widow, Mrs. Juliet Pryce and continues to be supported by The Rev. Dr. Jeremiah B. Pryce Scholarship Advisory Committee.


Dr. Pryce was a staunch advocate for spiritual growth, education, and community involvement. Originally from Jamaica, Dr. Pryce and his family settled in Cleveland, Ohio after he obtained Masters degrees from Westminster Theological Seminary, Fuller Theological Seminary, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Illinois and Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School in Rochester, New York. Dr. Pryce earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2001.


During his career, Dr. Pryce served on a number religious, civic, social, and cultural committees locally, nationally, and internationally. This scholarship was created in 2006, to honor his legacy of commitment to youth, education and service. Dr. Pryce passed away in 2017.


Mrs. Juliet Pryce and The Rev. Dr. Jeremiah B. Pryce Scholarship Advisory Committee have partnered with The Cleveland Foundation to ensure that the scholarship resources will be maintained and grow over time.
